Ep3 Role of the Board

Explore the role of the board in leading improvement.  Consider how to help a board see the relevance and need for quality improvement and delve into the transition that a board needs to make as it evolves to adopt an improvement approach.  

Examine what has enabled the ELFT board to retain an improvement mindset and approach over so many years.  

With the introduction of the shared NHS improvement approach, NHS IMPACT, examine the issues that providers, systems and regions will be grappling with and how to support the adoption of improvement.  

Dr Amar Shah, Chief Quality Officer at ELFT hosts a discussion featuring Marie Gabriel, Chair of North East London Integrated Care Board and formerly Chair of ELFT (2012-2020), and Dr Navina Evans, Chief Workforce, Training and Education Officer, NHS England and formerly CEO of ELFT (2016-2020).  They share their reflections on their time as part of the ELFT improvement journey.
