In the inaugural (and potentially last) Ringside Chat Podcast, Gary, Court and Joe discuss how they became wrestling fans, their earliest memories of being a wrestling fan, and their professional wrestling influences.
This will be one of four "types" of podcasts the boys will be doing in the coming weeks. The other "types" are listed below.
VERSUS
One of the fun things about being a wrestling fan is thinking about all of the “what if” scenarios that would play out if you could match up the legends of their eras against each other. “Stone Cold” or the “Hulkster?” The NWO or D-Generation X? Andre the Giant or The Big Show? That’s what our newest podcast, “Versus,” is all about. Co-hosts Gary Freeland (writer for PWPonderings and Co-Founder of Ringside Chat), Court Montgomery (independent professional wrestler), and Joe Kacvinsky (lifelong wrestling fan and Co-Founder of Ringside Chat), as well as a rotating panel of special guests discuss these potential matchups at length and determine who would win in the ultimate professional wrestling fantasy warfare competition. The competitors will be rated on the following categories before the panel (and our listeners) vote to see who they believe would win in an epic encounter.
RINGSIDE REWIND
The “mothership” show of the Ringside Chat Podcast Network, Ringside Rewind is a hodgepodge of multiple topics from the professional wrestling world, both old and new. Nothing is off limits here as our hosts Court Montgomery (independent professional wrestler), Gary Freeland (writer for PWPonderings) and Joe Kacvinsky (lifelong wrestling fan) cut it up about a myriad of topics in a format similar to that of Pardon the Interruption (ESPN) or The Canon Film Podcast. You will never know who or what will pop up on this show, or what salacious things may be said. This is a show that you must check out.
WRASSLIN’ REVIEW
The brainchild of RCPN Co-Founder Court Montgomery, “Wrasslin’ Review” focuses on one major pay-per-view event, starting at WrestleMania I, and thoroughly examines its build and execution. However, it does not end there. Each member on the panel will take an opportunity to state their case on how they would have booked the show; the only caveat is you cannot use any of the shows original matches. What would WrestleMania 3 look like without Andre vs. Hulk? What would WrestleMania 10 look like if the Undertaker was available to work? The fans will then vote on the Ringside Chat Facebook page to determine the winner, which will be announced the following week.
CURTAIN JERKIN’
If you enjoy “Mystery Science Theatre 3000,” or Red Letter Media’s “Best of the Worst” then this is the show for you. Join Gary Freeland, Court Montgomery, and Joe Kacvinsky (and a multitude of alcohol) as they kill their liver and their appetite for the business as they re-watch and provide commentary for some of the weirdest, wildest and downright terrible wrestling shows of all time.
