I denne uge er vi taget til Hamborg for at besøge det spritnye forskningsanlæg European XFEL (X-ray Free-Electron Laser), hvor DTU har leveret vigtige instrumenter. En røntgen-laser kan skabe et koncentreret bundt af stråler, der samtidig kan blinke tusindvis af gange i sekundet. Det giver mulighed for at få ny indsigt i materialers struktur og interaktion, fordi man fx kan se hvordan de enkelte atomer flytter sig fx under en kemisk reaktion.
