We introduced today the topic for the next few weeks: Prayer. Simply, it is just talking with God, and yet it feels daunting. As parents, we often don't feel "qualified" to teach kids how to pray. We don't feel like we are amazing pray-ers, and don't want to duplicate our inabilities, and yet, we discount who God can be through us for our kids!
Here are the two resources we mentioned today:
- The YouVersion Bible App: There are tons of reading plans about prayer for you! We suggest the multiple reading plans called "Praying God's Word over your Kids" ( my.bible.com/reading-plans/1226…r-your-kids-part-1 )
They even have one for kids: Ancora Kids Get Praying ( my.bible.com/reading-plans/1305…a-kids-get-praying )
The Book "With Christ in the School of Prayer" by Andrew Murray. You can download or buy it in just about every version that you'd want, even free pdf downloadable versions.
This month's challenge: Read one chapter of the book every day of May. The book is small and each chapter is only about 5 pages long, so you can easily knock it out with some intentionality!
Join us as we unpack how we can lead our kids into being great leaders!
