In this episode of Mentoring for the Modern Musician the Scharff Brothers are lucky enough to chat with Musician extraordinaire Michael Gallant! Michael is a New York-based pianist/keyboardist, composer, producer, writer, and entrepreneur. As the leader of the Michael Gallant Trio, he has released two critically acclaimed albums, 2013’s Completely and 2015’s Live Plus One, and toured internationally with bandmates Dmitry Ishenko (bass) and Rob Mitzner (drums). Most recently, the Trio performed at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC as part of the annual Take 5! Concert Series. As a vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter, Gallant performs with Aurical. The band has played twice to capacity crowds at New York’s Lincoln Center and will release its second album in 2018!
As the founder and CEO of Gallant Music LLC, Gallant currently writes arts and music-related content for the National Endowment for the Arts, the U.S. State Department, M: Music and Musicians, Universal Audio, Echoes Blog, and other outlets.
