The Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes is warning that Ireland will need as many allies as possible during the next phase of Brexit negotiations. MEPs this morning concluded that the hardest part of the Brexit talks is yet to come. During a debate in the European Parliament MEPs warned the UK government not to take a Brexit transition deal for granted. And they called on Britain to clearly lay out its vision for the UK’s future relationship with the EU. Brian Hayes says Ireland needs to start building alliances to secure the best possible outcome for the country.
