Could we actually say goodbye to Edmonton’s High Level Bridge?

Edmonton’s bridges are getting old. Now, the City of Edmonton wants to look at decommissioning and replacing a bunch of bridges in the core, including the iconic High Level and Low Level bridges. The proposal is based on a new bridge renewal report. So what are the plans? And is it any wonder the idea of losing historic bridges has the heritage community up in arms?
