In Judges 16 we see the downfall of Samson. While he was blessed mightily, he was very self-centered. Elder Chris compares and contrasts Samson with Joseph. Joseph would not yield to Potiphar’s wife that led to great deliverance and blessing. But Delilah’s vexing would ultimately be Samson’s tragic end. The difference is Joseph served and loved the Lord, and God was with him. Elder Chris points out that Samson’s death did more good for the people of God than all his life. He encourages us to live more like Joseph. There may be temporary difficulties, but our lives will be more beneficial to our family and the family of God.
