Welcome back to the House. Today was about being Seen — not just by other people, but by yourself.
There were seasons where I was palatable, easy, celebrated in small doses… but not fully seen. And the hardest part to admit? Sometimes we dim ourselves to stay connected. Being tolerated is not the same as being witnessed.
If you have to stray from who you are to keep a relationship, a room, or a role — eventually you won’t recognize yourself.
This House exists so Black women can practice visibility without losing rest, humanity, or agency.
So here’s the mirror questions:
* What part of you is desiring to be seen by you again?
* What dynamics aren’t celebratory of your becoming as much as they are your present?
* What dynamics aren’t celebratory of your becoming as much as they are your past?
If something in this stirred you, download the Seen. Simple. Sustainable. Sovereign. Manifesto.
That’s where you’ll find deeper reflections to begin your own journey toward visibility that’s intimate, spiritual, and honest — without losing rest, humanity, or agency.
And if you want to walk with me as this run unfolds in real time, you’re already in the right place.
See you back in the House tomorrow.
xoxo,
Empress Theadora
