The One Big Tip Podcast with Jeff Mendelson
Business:Entrepreneurship
Jason Skeesick is a US Army Veteran, Coach, and Entrepreneurial Evangelist. He is a father, husband, fighter, and carrier of heavy things. His company Spear and Clover helps businesses with passionate leaders, talented teams, and strong playbooks go from contenders to Championship Dynasty Organizations. You can find Jason hosting the weekly Spear and Clover Podcast available on Youtube and across all audio platforms. Through his organization, Jason helps passionate entrepreneurs build the foundations and frameworks they need to impact the world. The goal-setting process is an innovative practice that the highest performers in the sports, business, and entertainment industries use to achieve their near-impossible.
When Jason joined the United States Army he obtained a military mindset that he recognized balanced out what he calls his spirit of the puppy, this real passion and exuberance to try new things and meet new people, and have a lot of fun, with the discipline, hard work, responsibility and stepping forward. He has the benefit of a boundless gas tank to do things that he’s passionate about. With the structure of adding his military mindset and making sure that he fulfills the obligations that he has to himself, his family, his team, and his clients.
Getting back from the military, Jason went to school for finance and the world of corporate finance. In the spirit of the puppy, he opened a small CrossFit gym in a dusty fourth-floor warehouse in Chicago. He tried to do both of those things at the same time and it wasn't until he was working on 50 million deals and sitting across the table from millionaires that he realized the only thing he could think about was his little 90-person, $9,000 a month CrossFit gym. He then decided to take a circuitous path and leave the corporate world to focus on becoming a full-time entrepreneur and growing the tribe that he was so passionate about.
When Jason transitioned, he knew that it was a risk but didn’t want to play the game of always serving at the leisure of someone else or being at the top of the pyramid that he was at. He started focussing on teaching people to master themselves. Running a CrossFit gym is to become an expert at fielding a professional team that executes at an unbelievably professional level. Asking questions to find the pain points to figure out the foundation, which is the mission of your business, why it is important to you, what your core values are personally, and what your core values as a business are. How to take the magic and scale that out to science and impact the world in a massive way. Essentially that's what Dynasty Defined is all about. Establishing a culture to accomplish the biggest hairiest goals. Helping people set those goals and figure out what it is that they really need to do in order to achieve them.
