Seek Wholly Living with Christa Svoboda
Kids & Family:Parenting
"You knit me together in my mother's womb, I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." That verse has taken on new meaning to me as I have had five very different children. Each fearfully and wonderfully made in their own unique designs.
First I had a boy and I loved watching him grow in all of his "boyness". Then, God gave us a girl. I expected them to be quite different because of their boy and girl differences, and they were. When I found out that our third child was a girl, all that I could picture in my mind was similar girl qualities to my first daughter. But God designed my daughters so differently! From birth, I realized how mistaken I had been. My first daughter has darker straight brown hair and my second daughter has blond curly hair. As they grew, I learned how different their hearts, gifts, and personalities were made. I knew better than to expect anything the same when I found out I was having a third daughter, and I was right! My precious third daughter is like no one else I've ever met. And our precious last baby boy is still so small that we don't know exactly what type of a person he will grow into, but we do know that he will be his own uniquely designed person by our amazingly creative God.
Today, my friends and I will be talking about God's unique design of each of our children and how we, as moms, have a privilege to love and serve each of them in such differently intentional ways. Both of the other moms with me are also moms of 5 children, so we have all struggled with the balance of serving so many people well, while also attempting to maintain our sanity!
Michelle Akrami is back with me! She has been here for many previous episodes and I always love gleaning from her wisdom. Michelle has been married for 16 years and has children from 5-11 years old. You can follow Michelle on Instagram @theunhurriedfarm or online at www.unhurriedfarm.com .
A new friend to you is my friend Noël Quinnelly. She has been married for 23 years and her children range from ages 12-22 so she has a lot of mothering wisdom to share with us. I have been so blessed by watching the way she intentionally pours into each of her children and I'm so glad to introduce you to her today.
