Lauren Ashley Smith is the head writer and co-executive producer on the HBO series A Black Lady Sketch show. She is the first black woman to be the head writer of a sketch television show. A Black Lady Sketch Show received three Emmy Award nominations and the second season is currently airing on HBO and HBO Max.
Previously, Smith was the head writer of the late night show The Rundown with Robin Thede on BET. Other writing and producing credits include Best Week Ever, Fashion Queens and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
