Shelby Dixon is a native of South Carolina, and graduated from the University of South Carolina. Her world of cheer and dance began at the age of 11. While attending Carolina, Shelby was part of USC's Hip Hop Dance Ensemble. Wanting to further her dance career, and dreams of going Pro, she went out for Charlotte's NFL team, the Carolina Panthers TopCats. With little to no experience of the professional leagues dance world, she went in with everything and made the team in 2008. She cheered for the Panthers for 5 amazing years, serving as captain, international travels, and was one of six selected for a GQ magazine shoot with Cam Newton. In 2014, upon the return of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, Shelby auditioned for The Honey Bees and took off as an NBA dancer. This experience also presented many opportunities for more international travel with the NBA, opportunities to perform backup with various music artists that brought their talents to the arena. Shelby danced with the Hornets for 3 seasons, and still today plays an integral role with the organization/team. Shelby is also the owner, founder and head coach of Charlotte's newest independent dance team, ProForce, also the official cheerleaders for the Charlotte Thunder (AAL arena football). Outside of dance, Shelby holds a full-time career for a multinational financial institution, the 2019-2020 Mrs. USA Earth, a wife, and mom of 2 under 3. Even amongst all of this, she is not sure if her passion of cheering/dancing on a field is done, as the passion still drives her.
