Struggling to make inroads in the world of American Hard Rock, GFR omitted the ‘Railroad’ from their name and rebranded to ‘Grand Funk’. Combined with bringing in a new producer, sharing lead vocal duties between Don Brewer and Mark Farner and tidying up their playing, Grand Funk Railroad executed an album that celebrates all American music that has come before, but packaged in a very neat and complete 70s Hard Rock album.
