Vikas is an emergency healthcare surgeon working in the NHS and in private healthcare. He is a surgeon with a difference because he practises mindfulness and meditation each and every day and trains other healthcare professionals to use mindfulness to help combat stress, burnout and fatigue. In this podcast we talk about the numerous benefits of practising mindfulness and why our inability to tame our minds isn’t down to our use of Smart phones at all but a basic human condition – our minds wander and we are constantly distractable. We also discuss how just 5 minutes a day can have an immediate impact and how living mindfully helps us to have far better responses to whatever is happening around us.
