Today I am speaking with Irssa Ahuja. Irssa is highly skilled research and gender expert. And so much more! She shares rich examples of her work traveling to rural areas, conflict zones and working with diverse communities on topics such as human rights, women’s empowerment, and conflict resolution.
Irssa shares her passion for this work and how it was a struggle to begin her consulting journey within the constraints of society in her home of Pakistan. In her words - 'someone has to be the first drop of rain'. She helps us understand the dynamics of not being taken seriously as a female consultant; how she has been a pioneer and example for other women from South Asia to start on their consulting journey. Her strongest message is how we need to believe in ourselves and invest in ourselves to ensure we can be the best consultants we can be.
