James and I discuss why spending time alone is really good for you! As an introvert, spending time alone is an absolute necessity for me but this isn't so for everyone. We keep reading about people suffering from loneliness and linking this with mental health issues. Feelings of loneliness are personal, so everyone’s experience of loneliness will be different.
Actually having time alone is really healthy and actually builds mental strength. Studies show the ability to tolerate alone time has been linked to increased happiness, better life satisfaction, and improved stress management. People who enjoy alone time actually experience less depression.
We chat about how to create pockets of alone time, how to boost your energy and happiness levels and how investing in time alone boosts empathy, critical thinking and resilience.
