On the podcast today we're diving into a topic that you've likely already heard about, especially if you've followed me on social media for any length of time. It's the new documentary film about my family called Rocco Up, and it's been a journey filled with lessons, relationships, and joy that I never imagined would be part of my life.
It's a project that we began almost three years ago. It started as just an idea to make a difference for other families living with autism. It's grown into a film that's entered into over 50 film festivals, and is showing at the acclaimed Hamptons International Film Festival here in Long Island in just over two weeks! It recently won the Best Editing Award at the Surfalorus Film Festival in North Carolina's beautiful Outer Banks.
I've received so many questions about this film from parents, just like you.
Today I'm diving into all that, but I also want to share with you how this film is what birthed my new book (publishing date coming soon!) and my entire consulting practice. None of it would exist today if I hadn't allowed my family to step in front of the camera.
