In today’s episode of The Batman Universe podcast, Scott and BJ are joined by Pat Grimes from Wires Don’t Talk. The three cover a wide variety of topics, starting with the heartbreaking news that Arleen Sorkin, the inspiration of and original voice for Harley Quinn, passed away. Her iconic performance set an unbeatable bar, as well as created a template for other iterations of Harley Quinn to follow.
Scott, BJ, and Pat also discuss an interesting article from the Hollywood Reporter titled “Where have all the DC film fans gone?”, which examines the factors that, lately, have culminated in weak box office performance for film after film for DC and Warner Bros.
Other topics in this episode include a DCU Batman casting rumor, the return of the Batman ’89 comic book series, and the upcoming Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 7-issue series.
For extra credit, check out BJ’s latest TBU Five Things article covering Mask of the Phantasm.
