What are the rules for a happy relationship? There aren’t any, really. What works for you may not work for someone else. If you leave it up to Pinterest and Instagram, one of your Facebook groups or even your favorite religious text, relationships should be formulaic. Most of what we've learned about relationships include expectations; a bunch of shoulda's, coulda's and woulda's.
Happy relationships aren't happy all the time. And there is an argument to be made elsewhere that maybe, happiness isn't really the goal of a satisfying relationship or life in general. They require fluidity, communication, evolution, curiosity, and an agreement from both partners to constantly do the work to help it adapt and flourish.
In this episode, Charles gets real about relationships, admitting that the rules most of us try to adhere to don't end up working out as well as we'd hoped. Be ready to take some notes on this one! Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter!
