Prescott Creeks Preservation Association is asking area residents and businesses to let the City of Prescott City Council and Officials know that it is important to permanently protect Watson Woods Riparian Preserve (Preserve). The protection would result from placing the Preserve into a conservation easement – a voluntary, legal agreement that would limit development on the preserve, exceptions include certain City utilities and infrastructure. Much of the once 1,000-acre original habitat has been lost or severely degraded due to decades of livestock grazing, illegal dumping, firewood cutting, and sand/gravel extraction. These activities contributed to a 90% loss of riparian habitat...
