We meet Dr Amy Monaghan, pharmacology & screening scientist and molecular biologist, who reveals what's going on within the Drug and Discovery Institute funded by Alzheimer's Research UK.
The institute's overriding goal is to develop new drugs to delay the onset and prevent dementias.
Delaying the onset of dementia by just 2 years could save the NHS 12.9 billion pounds a year.
Dementia is not an inevitable part of growing older; it is a physic disease and as such it's possible that Amy and her team can discover a cure.
