Being a designer and entrepreneur by practice grown into a banking executive, Maurizio is striving to transform the banking industry from the inside. He is the founder of Erste Group’s inhouse fintech and for over 10 years has been a driving force behind the development of George, whose more than 9 million users across Austria and CEE make it the region’s leading banking platform. In January 2021, Maurizio joined the ranks of the Erste Group management board as the first-ever Chief Platform Officer. The main tasks keeping him busy these days are how to enhance, organizs, scale and govern digital banking to improve the financial lives of as many people as possible.
