As a fourth-year student in Agribusiness and the Student Body President at Florida A&M University, Rochard Moricette works hard to share his passions with fellow students and the Tallahassee community. With his experience in advocacy, business and serving on the statewide Florida Student Association, he is a natural fit to join the Chamber’s Board of Directors as a student representative.
Moricette came to Tallahassee from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida but his family is originally from Haiti. He touts Tallahassee as a great place to be with a culturally diverse, talented student population.
“You have to invest in this city, you have to invest in the resources, you have to invest in this city’s talent pool, because Florida State, Florida A&M University and TCC have one of the best student body populations that you can imagine.”
The student seat on the Chamber Board of Directors was created to honor the late Skip Smith, a Board member and community leader who passed away in 2017. In his memory, the Chamber created an Endowment to celebrate his life and recognize his generous service to the Chamber and Tallahassee community. Additionally, one of Skip's passions was mentorship, so with that in mind, the Chamber Board created a program to add a student representative to the Board from FSU, FAMU or TCC.
