Think of the three most common "isms"!
- Racism
- Sexism
- Ageism
Then imagine that you're at the intersection of all 3!
This is the plight of being Black, Female and 50 and I had the pleasure of hosting a fabulous panel of women to discuss what it means to be part of the #powertrifecta.
As well as highlighting the challenges, we explored;
- Navigating careers and society as a mature black woman.
- Whether attitudes to black women over 50 have changed?
- Their biggest career challenges.
- How Black and White women over 50 are viewed/treated?
- The value black women over 50 bring to the table?
Plus, how the world views this demographic and how organizations can support and get the most out of them.
The next LinkedIn live is scheduled 12th April 2022 where I'll be hosting personal stylist Renee Lindo on the topic of the impact of appearance and dress for women over 50 - "Is it really your business what I wear?"
It'll be a lively and enlightening conversation so make sure you connect with me on LinkedIn to join us, submit your questions and have your voices heard.
And if you want to watch the video of our discussion, head over and subscribe to the This Woman Can YouTube channel to do so and more.
