The Driven Entrepreneur with Matt Brauning
Business:Entrepreneurship
Episode #128 - Today, I am joined by an extremely special person as my guest today is the first woman to climb Mount Everest from both sides. Cathy O'Dowd is a South African climber, speaker, author and adventurer. She has etched her name in history with her Everest accomplishment and has actually climbed Everest on 4 occasions. One of her expeditions happened during the infamous 1996 Everest storm disaster journalist Jon Krakauer chronicled in his book, "Into Thin Air." She was at Everest camp 4, and survived to tell her side of the story.
Cathy now speaks for the who's who of companies including the likes of Microsoft, Nestle, Toyota, DHL, GE, and Rolls Royce. She's appeared everywhere in the media from National Geographic to GQ. She is also the NYT Best selling author of the book "Just For The Love of It: The First Woman to Climb Mount Everest." In this book, she shares her passion for the world’s highest mountain while telling her extraordinary stories from her four Everest expeditions. It's an amazing book and today's episode is an incredible interview.
