Today's conversation is with Kevin Frank
Kevin is a Certified Advanced Rolfer(TM), Rolf Movement (R) Practitioner, and Rolf Movement Instructor for the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration. He has worked with the Hubert Godard-derived Tonic Function model since 1991 and has written on this topic from 1995 to the present. Kevin advocates for an ‘information system’ view of structural integration, to help bring the SI field into congruence with modern understanding of motor control and perceptive/coordinative processes.
Kevin is the co-author (with Caryn McHose) of How Life Moves, Explorations in Meaning and Body Awareness (North Atlantic 2006) https://amzn.to/3ddDZKd
Kevin became a Rolfer in 1987, drawn to the work having spent two decades in Zen practice and inquiry and then looking for a profession built around fostering awareness to the present moment.
In today's conversation we spoke about Rolf Movement, the dichotomy of pure structural vs movement "Rolfing," Tonic Function theory, the movement brain, interdisciplinary holistic health, and a ton more. Kevin is a thoughtful, intelligent, charismatic human being and he offers quite a lot to chew on here.
