This is part 2 with the amazing winemaker of Le Riche Winery; Christo Le Riche. He is president of the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective and so has kindly agreed to talk us through the different subregions of Stellenbosch, explaining how the different terroirs and microclimates affect Cab Sav, whilst I taste several Cabernet Sauvignons from a few other producers in the area.
It is quite hard to skip ahead in this episode as there is just so much information about regions, climates, history, external influences and lots of wineries for you to get to know. We also touch on what the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective is all about and also even on sustainability and heavy glass. Find the wines below that we focus on and try:
Jordan, The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 £17.95 winedirect.co.uk
Warwick Estate, The Blue Lady Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 £24.95 winedirect.co.uk
Spier, 21 Gables Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 R1,860.00 shop.spier.co.za
