Episode 73 - Meet Atari's Streamer, VernNotice

Feb 27th, 2026 5:00 PM

Starting around mid-2025, VernNotice started streaming weekly on Atari's Twitch channel, playing new, old, and really old releases from Atari's library. Outside of that, he's a full-time streamer for his own channel. It's a world that's alien to me, so I've had my eye on this interview for a while to pick Vern's brain on all things streaming. We cover quite a few topics, including Vern's intro to streaming, what makes a good streaming game, neon lights, and so much more!YouTube: https://youtu.be/kRP39Y6-3KcFollow Vern:Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/vernnoticeYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/loadinggodmodeX: https://x.com/VernNoticeWatch him streaming on Atari's Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/atariThe Disney Afternoon Collection for Switch and Switch 2 AVAILABLE NOW:Switch: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/the-disney-afternoon-collection-switch/Switch 2: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/the-disney-afternoon-collection-switch-2/Physical: https://atari.com/products/disney-afternoon-collection?variant=47421181362341&tab=physicalJoin the Atari Club on Discord: https://discord.gg/atariclubFollow us:Atari:X: https://x.com/atariBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/atari.comJason Polansky: https://bsky.app/profile/jaysofdoom.bsky.social

Episode 72 - Let's Play Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition w/ Digital Eclipse

Feb 13th, 2026 5:00 PM

During the mid-90s, a unique and unlikely mascot platformer emerged from Ubisoft: Rayman. 30 years and many entries and spin-offs later, the game that started it all is back via Digital Eclipse in a rather unique collection of titles. Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition gathers multiple versions of the original title across all platforms with the expected reverence that only Digital Eclipse can deliver, plus plenty of documentary footage and documents to tell the story of how the beloved limbless mascot came to be. Joining me, yet again, is Chris Kohler (Editorial Director), who joins me in a journey through all the content of the collection as we play through each version and even stumble upon some fun easter eggs.YouTube: https://youtu.be/UMOXN-LySsIRayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is AVAILABLE NOW!Digital and Physical options here: https://atari.com/raymanJoin the Atari Club on Discord: https://discord.gg/atariclubFollow us:Digital Eclipse:X: http://twitter.com/digitaleclipseBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/digitaleclipse.bsky.socialChris Kohler: https://bsky.app/profile/kohler.bsky.socialAtari:X: https://x.com/atariBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/atari.comJason Polansky: https://bsky.app/profile/jaysofdoom.bsky.social

Episode 71 - Let's Play The Disney Afternoon Collection w/ Digital Eclipse

Feb 11th, 2026 10:02 PM

[Recorded on March 26th, 2026] Way way WAY back in 2017, Digital Eclipse and Disney partnered to bring The Disney Afternoon Collection to Xbox One, PS4, and Steam, featuring classic retro Disney titles like DuckTales and TaleSpin among a handful of others. Fast-forward to now, and DE is back at the helm to bring the title to Switch and Switch 2 with some surprise additions. Noteable: Bonkers and Shinji Mikami's Goof Troop. Joining me to discuss the development of the original release and what's in this update are Digital Eclipse's Chris Kohler (Editorial Director), Frank Cifaldi (Founder of the Video Game History Foundation and former head of restoration at Digital Eclipse), and Sam Brown (Atari release manager).YouTube: https://youtu.be/-RxuUe02W30Preorder The Disney Afternoon Collection for Switch and Switch 2:Switch: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/the-disney-afternoon-collection-switch/Switch 2: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/the-disney-afternoon-collection-switch-2/Physical: https://atari.com/products/disney-afternoon-collection?variant=47421181362341&tab=physicalJoin the Atari Club on Discord: https://discord.gg/atariclubFollow us:Digital Eclipse:X: http://twitter.com/digitaleclipseBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/digitaleclipse.bsky.socialFrank Cifaldi: https://bsky.app/profile/frankcifaldi.bsky.socialChris Kohler: https://bsky.app/profile/kohler.bsky.socialAtari:X: https://x.com/atariBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/atari.comSam Brown: https://bsky.app/profile/smugporky.bsky.socialJason Polansky: https://bsky.app/profile/jaysofdoom.bsky.social

Episode 70 - AtariAge and "Deep Retro" w/ Albert Yarusso

Jan 16th, 2026 5:00 PM

We're back after our holiday hiatus! Game previews will be coming soon and often, but to kick things off, here's a bit of a self-indulgent treat for you all. AtariAge officially joined the Atari family in 2023, but it has been a staple in the homebrew community for decades before that. Albert Yaruso, one of the cofounders, continues its operations today, but has a much longer history in the game industry that crosses paths with some legendary titles. I'm not going to mince words: this one's for the nerds. Al doesn't hold back, diving into the ins and outs of homebrew and classic console development, and I couldn't resist inquiring about his intimate work on my favorite game of all time, Deus Ex. This is a meaty one, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it.YouTube: https://youtu.be/WZ12Ard8TxwCheck out some of the games on AtariAge (https://atariage.com/):Thurst+: https://store.atariage.com/products/thrust-platinum-atari-2600E.X.O.: https://store.atariage.com/products/exo-atari-7800-pre-orderBernie & The Tower of Doom: https://store.atariage.com/products/bernie-the-tower-of-doom-atari-7800Join the Atari Club on Discord: https://discord.gg/atariclubContact Al: Albert@atariage.comFollow us:Atari:X: https://x.com/atariBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/atari.comJason Polansky: https://bsky.app/profile/jaysofdoom.bsky.social

Episode 69 - From Tabloid to RollerCoaster Tycoon w/ Matt Raithel

Dec 5th, 2025 5:00 PM

If you've been following the happenings of Atari for the last few years, you've likely taken note of some of our frequent collaborators. One of them, Graphite Lab, has been delivering killer new titles like Kombinera, Mr. Run and Jump, and Qomp 2, while also serving as the current steward of RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic. That's in addition to fostering a number of other projects with various partners. At the center of their operation is Matt Raithel, Studio Director of Graphite Lab. Following the launch of a title on the newly released Board platform, I thought it was an opportune time to sit down and chat a little bit about that, but also Matt's background and how he sees the middle America gaming industry.Check out some of the latest Atari releases:Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection: https://atari.com/collections/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollectionTotal Chaos: https://atari.com/products/total-chaosOutlaws + Handful of Missions Remaster: https://atari.com/products/outlaws-handful-of-missions-remasterBlood: Refreshed Supply: https://atari.com/products/blood-refreshed-supplyJoin the Atari Club on Discord: https://discord.gg/atariclubFollow us:Atari:X: https://x.com/atariBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/atari.comGraphite Lab: https://x.com/graphitelabMatt Raithel: https://x.com/raitheoshowJason Polansky: https://bsky.app/profile/jaysofdoom.bsky.social
