''Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem'' (Galatians 1:18).
Not only did Paul go back to Damascus to preach. He stayed there for three years. Three years without speaking to one of the Apostles. Three years of rumors about this persecutor turned preacher. Three years of uncertainty. After this time, Paul finally returned to Jerusalem.
Three years away. Three days of blindness before his Baptism. Three days Jesus stayed in the tomb. Coincidence? I think not.
I believe it was a very deliberate time away from the Apostles. Why? Paul didn't need Peter's approval to preach. He was called by Jesus Christ, just like the Twelve. He answered the call and let God guide his course. Very good role model for your Christian life. Amen.
