JULY 16: Congestion driving people out of Toronto. Students seeking asylum. Need for youth spaces

Greg (@gregbradyTO) leaned into a new survey from the Toronto Region Board of Trade that found that more than half of residents, 53 per cent, have thought about moving away from the GTA and its congestion. Giles Gherson, President and CEO of the Toronto Region Board of Trade, joined Greg in studio to discuss.

Also, Earl Blaney, immigration consultant and education agent, joined Toronto Today to talk about shocking new data regarding asylum claims and study permits. Why would students need to claim asylum? We’ll find out.  

Finally, Parthi Kandavel, Toronto city councillor for Scarborough – Southwest, on a motion he’s bringing forward at Mayor Chow’s executive committee meeting today – asking for more spaces to be opened up for youth during the summer months.. why? To help prevent youth violence. This comes as multiple teenagers face murder charges in the GTA.
