Trigger Warning.
No one should be afraid of someone they love, or who loves them.
Feeling pressured or threatened. Becoming isolated from friends and family. Violence. A loss of independence and individuality due to a controlling partner.
These are all signs of an unhealthy relationship.
Feb 22nd is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day and Georgia and I have partnered with the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking to raise awareness about an issue that lives in our own backyards, not just in the movies.
Recognizing these signs early is key to helping fuel positive relationships and in turn, ending sex trafficking.
If you or someone you know is in an unhealthy relationship you can call the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline, a confidential service that provides information and support at 1-833-900-1010. 24/7 or click the link on our bio to visit the website.
Talking to your kids and asking questions is so important and looking out for signs.
57 percent of Canadians are unaware that sex trafficking is happening in their own backyard.
Sex trafficking victims are commonly lured by someone they know, all stemming from volatile and unhealthy relationships.
To hear our Mother Daughter conversation about the issue, click the link in our bio and you can watch or listen to our latest podcast.
