If you’re a woman or minority, you’ve probably been added to a pitch team at the last minute. Whether expressly stated, you know you’ve been brought in as the “diversity add.” While you might be grateful for the opportunity, it’s difficult to stand out and shine when you’re given less time to prepare and not included in developing the initial strategy. In today’s episode, I’m sharing my best tips on how to handle these situations.
Things you will learn in this episode:
• Practical tips for making the most of an opportunity even when you’re a “diversity add”
• Ways to be proactive so you can gain pitch opportunities as an integral part of the team (rather than as a token member)
• How to communicate your expectations, and options to consider if you don’t get what you need
• Why you need to be in control of your career and decide what’s best for you
