What do you think would happen when a few dudes from the FRD brotherhood go on an epic adventure in the Colorado mountains? And to be clear, we’re not talking about hitting the slopes with the luxuries of a 5-star resort either. If your guess was a lot of meaningful conversations and great memories, you’d be right.
It’s such a powerful experience when you get out of your comfort zone with other people, allow yourself to be vulnerable, unplug, recharge and connect with others in nature.
In this conversation, I’m joined by Chris Emick, Michael Wagner, and Ali Jafarian. They recently got together with a group of 8 dads and went off the grid for a few days on a mountain adventure of exploration and discovery.
The opportunity to connect with others, using the “One Word” exercises that we’ve talked about on the show recently, and dive into the uncomfortable feelings was too good to pass up for these guys.
You’ll hear the breakthrough conversations they had while melting snow to make coffee at 5am, the tales of pushing their limits, and those sweet spots in time when your body is in tune with nature.
While this was without question a great experience for everyone on this trip, I want to encourage our listeners to have their own experiences. You don’t have to jump on a plane and go snowshoeing in the Colorado mountains to do this. It doesn’t hurt to try that, but there are many other ways of doing this. And I hope that by hearing this conversation today, you’ll find a way to have a miniature version of this retreat and connect with others in your neck of the woods.

We are in the business of building better families.
While most dads would say that family matters most, the challenge is they feel guilty knowing their careers get the best of them, and their family seems to get the rest of them.
We help Dads become family men with businesses, not businessmen who have families, so they can thrive personally AND professionally.
