To gay or not to gay, that is the question. The Sacred Band of Thebes was an elite unit of the Theban army comprised of purportedly 150 gay male couples totaling 300 men. This is a force that for years would remain undefeated in battle until they were wiped out to the last man by Alexander the Great. But What is their story? How did they become so famous?
