Betty's behavior following the divorce became increasingly erratic and obsessive. She repeatedly harassed her ex-husband and his new wife, even after multiple restraining orders were issued against her. In 1989, Betty Broderick broke into her ex-husband's home and fatally shot both Daniel and Linda as they slept.

Betty Broderick was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder in 1991 and is still serving a sentence of 32 years to life in prison.
