Society & Culture:Philosophy
Many of us grew up hearing that baptism was something that people do to be saved. But where does the ritual come from, and what can it mean for Progressive Christians today? Today, lead pastor Josh Scott walks us through a re-examination of the roots of baptism. He explains how baptism started as a ritual of purity, repentance, and resistance, and he shares how engaging with this ancient practice can help us feel connected to a larger community of people who follow Jesus.
