Dr Hayley Gorton is Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at The University of Huddersfield. She is a community pharmacist by background but in recent years she has developed a research interest in suicide prevention particularly in community pharmacy.. We were lucky that she came on to talk about her career so far and her work in this area to date.
Hayley has only been qualified for five years but has used that time to great effect to understand the emerging area of community pharmacy involvement in suicide prevention. We talked about her research interests and also heard all about her trip to America as part of the Churchill Fellowship.
Hayley finished by discussing the importance of healthcare professionals taking the time to look after their own mental health.
