We sit down with Renée Thornton, Sue Tidwell, Jack Atcheson Jr., John Bair and Jana Waller to talk about predators on the landscape. All five of these individuals are tied closely to wildlife conservation and have a vested interest in making sure predators are managed with the utmost attention.
John and Jana have served at the State level working with wildlife managers. Their perspective gives us valuable insight into how managers approach this issue and some of the levers that they can pull to assist with effective management on the landscape. We talk to Sue to gather a better understanding of her unique perspective having an understanding of predators in Africa and the effect they have on communities. Renée provides context on her passion for predator harvest and how the image of hunters is critical when it comes to this sensitive issue. Lastly, Jack Atcheson Jr. is an outfitter and international outfitting consultant who has dealt with predators in his home state of Montana and abroad. Jack weighs in on why and how predators need to be effectively managed.
Predator management is always emotive so this one may ruffle some feathers. Regardless open discussion about wildlife management and its many facets needs to be discussed and we flesh out some of these challenging areas.
