''Nor did I go up to Jerusalem ... but I went away into Arabia'' (Galatians 1:17).
The Arabian peninsula has been a great place in Christian history. Abraham and Isaac sojourned there in their time. Moses brought the Israelites out of Egypt to Mount Sinai. Paul went there to study and reinforce his newborn faith. Many early Church fathers fled into Arabia to live as hermits in the desert.
Paul's excursion into Arabia is the epitome of our need to find that quiet place. The place where we can meditate on God's Word. Paul went into Arabia because he could meditate most effectively there.
This quiet time is necessary for your prayer life to flourish. Without the distractions of this world, you can think upon the things of the world to come. Amen.
