Too often we don’t see God rightly. For some reason we think He’s a taker, wanting more and more control, demanding surrender. But in reality He wants to give freedom, ironically, through our surrendering control to Him. Addicts can’t understand this even though they surrender the control of their life to the drug. Moving in obedience instead of rebellion does great battle against addictions. 2 Tim 2:20-21
