We've all been there, leaving a family gathering and saying, "never again!" But we do, over and over. There's always that one guy (that one guy is in every group, and sometimes it's a girl!) who makes us nuts.
It's time to stop being surprised by the unsurprising! If Aunt Betty says something upsetting every single time you see her, prepare for her to say something upsetting. Don't let her catch you off guard again!
Go into this gathering looking for the good. If you look for the bad, you can always find some, and the same goes for good! So look for the good in the people, in the food, and in anything, you can find it in. And you be the source of goodness and happiness for the party. It's not your responsibility to keep everyone psychologically healthy, just be sure that you are contributing to everyone's benefit you'll feel great at the end of the day, and it might be the whole thing go even better!
