Narcissist Apocalypse: Patterns of Abuse
Society & Culture:Relationships
In this episode of Narcissist Apocalypse, Freya shares her experience of growing up with a narcissistic mother and an enabling father, painting a vivid picture of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with a lack of consistent emotional safety and the struggle to break free from intergenerational trauma. Freya offers insight into the emotional labor of protecting her sibling from an abusive parent and the confusion that arises from seeing her father more as a peer than a caregiver.
It's a story of scapegoats, projection, being good enough, emotional abuse, physical abuse, suicidal ideation, therapy, enabling parents, reenactments, codependency, self esteem, and identity.
***** Content Warning - This episode discusses physical abuse and suicidal ideation. ****
