06/26/20 - The Removal of Confederate Monuments

The process for removing confederate monuments will take at least 60 days, and Richmond city council intends to start the process as soon as the new law goes into effect on July 1st. The state Supreme Court has lifted the freeze on evictions, although Governor Ralph Northam is allowing the freeze to remain in effect for certain parts of the state. Virginia may become one of the first states to fine employers who disregard safety rules around COVID-19 even as the state begins Phase Three of reopening.
