Ethan Hurkett is from Cedar Rapids, IA and prepped at CR Xavier High School. We got to sit down with him and talk about the transition after finishing his six-year career, his current training routine in Iowa City, and downtime playing Warzone. Hurkett discusses getting married last July, reflecting on his final season and Senior Day vs. Michigan State, and why the 2025 team chemistry felt special under leaders like Mark Gronowski. He explains the impact of revenue sharing/NIL, why he didn’t use an agent early, and how he later vetted NFL agents with help from his dad, who worked in the FBI. The conversation covers Iowa development culture, Coach Parker stories, conditioning memories, favorite game, and Hurkett’s goals for making an NFL roster, plus long-term interests in coaching and training.
