Routines Based Assessment

Disability Spot introduce a series of podcasts focused on goal-setting tools for the disability sector. Developed by students from Western Sydney University, these podcasts aim to provide valuable insights and professional development opportunities for those working in the field.

In this episode your hosts Bronte Gwenyth Ballantine Jones and Robbie Cabungcal provide insights into the purpose, structure, advantages, and challenges of using the Routine Based Assessment; a semi-structured clinical interview used to gather detailed information about the daily activities and routines of a child and their family. The assessment aims to establish a positive relationship between the therapist and the client while identifying the family's needs and potential intervention targets.

Disability SPOT is run by a dedicated group of volunteer speech pathologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists with the aim of providing best practice professional development and networking opportunities for members.
