The long-form interview has become a staple in podcasting. Some of the most popular podcasts in the world feature what, on the surface, seems like a pretty simple format. However to do this well isn’t always simple and it’s important to find little ways to distinguish interview podcasts and the best podcast interviewers know how to do this. Over the course of 300 episodes and counting, Dan Cable Presents has made small tweaks to the production process that make these interviews stand out.
Dan Cables Presents is hosted by Dan Cable, a musician living in Portland, Oregon. Each show features an interview with a musician, usually one from the Pacific Northwest. But rather than just record a long conversation with a guest, Dan intersperses bits of the artist’s music so the audience can hear the music for themselves. Show…Don’t tell. He joins the show to chat with Evo about how his show has evolved over the course of several years and 300 plus episodes.
