Die meisten Dächer Münchens waren damals noch mit Holzschindeln gedeckt und viele Häuser noch nicht aus Stein gebaut. Ideale Bedingungen für den verheerenden Stadtbrand vom 13. Februar 1327. Innerhalb von zwei Tagen vernichtete der Großbrand sage und schreibe ein Drittel der Stadt München.
