Outspoken fashion designer and activist Barbaros Şansal told Ahval’s John Lubbock that he decided to move to Cyprus because he could not guarantee the safety of his life and property in Turkey. Şansal previously spent 3 months in jail in Turkey for a social media post criticising the Turkish government and society.
