Health & Fitness:Mental Health
Optimise Pain Relief introduces a pain based narrative as a conversational strategy to discover common ground. The person in suicidal distress wants to be pain free and the professional wants to help them be pain free. Despite this common ground why do so many professionals end up in a power struggle with the person they are supporting?
The episode will guide professionals through the positional statements, interests and needs and a way of digging deep to see the other person's perspective and truly empathise with their pain and in the process create relational safety.
